Bringing community together to celebrate art and chamber music through community collaboration.

The Creativity Project gives local children an opportunity to experience and create art and chamber music through workshops and masterclasses taught by professional musicians and artists. During the Creativity Project, PHOA will hold art workshops in local schools, hold Creativity Day BR in collaboration with Lyrica Baroque and bring together local organizations and schools to grow the Arts in our community!

Thank you to The Charles Lamar Family Foundation for supporting The Creativity Project BR 2023 and allowing us to reach more youth! Thank you to each of our sponsors and visiting organizations! Being able to be a part of the growth of each child in the arts and in their lives is truly what we work so hard for everyday. We are grateful you allowed us to reach so many youth!

In partnership with Lyrica Baroque, Palacios House of Arts presented its first annual Creativity Day BR! This day was full of collaboration, creativity, friendship and music making! Creativity Day BR 2023 was a wonderful experience in art and music for the students of PHOA and visiting organizations from Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.

“Chamber Music- A conversation between friends.” -Catherine Drinker Bowen

The experience would not have been possible without our guest artist and musicians; Dennis Parker (Haymon Professor of Cello at LSU), Jaren Atherholt (Assistant Professor of Oboe at the University of Tennessee), and Jacqueline Dee Parker (Poet and Artist). We are elated to have had these artist for Creativity Day!

The students at Gardere Elementary and Wildwood Elementary as well as homeschool students at the Zachary Library joined us for an array of programming in music and art. All the students were exposed to new technique while being immersed in music.
