The Palacios Family

In 1997 our family emigrated to the U.S. from our native country, Cuba. After settling in Baton Rouge and becoming American citizens, we searched for a way to share our passion for the arts with our new community. Founded in 2018, Palacios House of Arts is an inclusive organization where people come together to learn, share and grow through a mutual appreciation for the musical, visual and performing arts. We offer integrative educational art and music programs and organize other cultural activities that engage community participation. We believe that arts education is a crucial component of human development and that shared creative experiences enrich essential life skills, encourage spiritual growth, and spread joy.

“Being a mother of two professional musicians is my greatest pride. Accompanying my children on their own musical journeys strengthened my belief in the essential value of arts education. It is for this reason that I feel so happy and fortunate to dedicate my life to developing integral educational programs in the musical and visual arts for the young people in my community.” Gloria Ruiz- Founder of PHOA
