Dayana Garcia is originally from Sancti – Spiritus, Cuba. She holds a music degree in Theorical and Musical Subjects from Cuba. Dayana has taught in Cuba and Mexico, teaching elementary level piano and directing children’s choirs.

Before coming to the United States, Dayana´s professional experience was as a singer in two professional choirs in her city: “Vocal Imago“ and “ Coro La Caridad,” and in a vocal quartet “ Vocal G’Nova.” She also taught piano, solfège and music theory at the “Ernesto Lecuona” School of Music. During her time in Mexico, she taught the same courses as in Cuba and helped teaching the choir of the “Semper Altius” School of Music. Dayana has instructed voice and piano workshops for kids in Hispanic Apostolate, here in Baton Rouge. At Palacios’ House of Arts, Dayana’s teaching method combines piano technique instruction together with music theory knowledge. This helps improving children’s reading and musical skills and contributes to complete musical development.
