Born in La Habana, Cuba, Gloria Ruiz de Palacios holds a Chemical Engineering degree from ISPJAE, La Habana. Since her graduation and during the next fifteen years, Gloria was a professor of Chemical Engineering at ISPJAE. Because of her passion for the fine arts, Gloria studied her Master’s degree in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Music Appreciation. This allowed her to hold a position as the Radio Programming Director as well as Director of the Writers and Broadcasters School of the Habana radio station.
In 1998, Gloria migrated to Venezuela where she worked as a teacher and music director of the “Centro Cultural Hebraica.” At the same time, she was the founder and director of her art workshops, “Talleres Integradores de arte Alas.” Gloria has coordinated and managed several important cultural and pedagogical events such as Yom Yerushalaim Festival and David Hamelej Festival. She has also been a speaker in different conferences about the importance of Art education in school curricula.
As a producer of events and cultural projects, Gloria has worked with organizations like Fundación Espacio Suizo, Nolck Red America, German Chamber of Commerce Venezuela, Don Bosco School, among others.
In 2014, Gloria and her husband moved to the United States. They are now American citizens and live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. And in 2018, Gloria and her family founded ¨Palacios´ House of Arts,¨ a space created for the development of the arts and the growth and development of culture within the community.
