Hannah urdea
Romanian violinist Hannah Urdea studied violin performance with Professors Marius Lăcraru and Ștefan Gheorghiu in Bucharest, Romania. She later continued her musical studies with violin Professors Lin He and Espen Lilleslåtten, as well as viola Professor Elias Goldstein in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Louisiana State University in 2018.
An avid chamber musician, Hannah has performed in various chamber music settings in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana, as well as in Valdeblore and Cagnes sur Mer, France. She has been a member of the Red Stick Trio, which served as the ensemble in residence for the 2016 Zodiac Chamber Music Academy and Festival in France. The Red Stick Trio also received the bronze medal in the 2016 Nola Chamber Fest Competition. As the winner of the 2012 Marjorie Stricklin Emerging Artists Competition, Hannah performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the Monroe Symphony Orchestra.
Hannah is currently a tenured member of the Baton Rouge Symphony, the Acadiana Symphony, the Rapides Symphony, the Gulf Coast Symphony, and the Lake Charles Symphony. For the Lake Charles Symphony she has often served as guest concertmaster. She is also frequently performing along the Louisiana Philharmonic and the New Orleans Chamber Orchestra. As a music educator, Hannah has previously taught for the LSU Performing Arts Academy and for Kids’ Orchestra, as well as privately. She is currently teaching for the Acadiana Symphony Conservatory, and is excited to join the Palacios House of Arts.
